Infos & Booking

This 9-day ski touring expedition aims to climb the highest mountain in Europe: Elbrouz (5642m).

Located between the Caspian Sea and the Black Sea, the Caucasus is a wild region. The trip includes acclimatization in the ski resort at the base of the summit before attempting the ascent of Elbrus.

In May snow conditions are usually excellent and allow the realization of beautiful ski descents.

You will start with a 2-day acclimatization in the Monte Rosa massif and then head to the Caucasus and attack the highest peak in Europe, which, if the weather is good, is relatively easy, although the last part before the summit requires the use crampons and ice axe.

The trip will only be confirmed depending on the situation concerning the Covid.

D6: Acclimatisation on the slopes of Elbrouz, if possible up to 5000m.
You will follow the route to the summit that will allow you to reach 5000m and above all to analyze the rest of the route but also your physical condition.

D7: Summit of Western Elbrouz (5642m).
Departure from the refuge at 2am with a groomer that will bring you around 4900m. The reason for this choice is the short stay time: acclimatisation is not optimal, it is necessary to reduce the length of the outing in order to have maximum chances to reach the top.
