Ski touring in the Haute Maurienne (Savoie)

Description

I propose you to go for three days of ski touring in the Haute Maurienne valley, in the heart of the Savoie and of the Vanoise National Park.

From the resort of Aussois, you will first take the ski lifts. After a day of discovering the ski area and the off-piste itineraries, you will find our comfortable and friendly refuge.

The next day, you will practice ski touring nearby and relax in the afternoon before a last night in the refuge.

The last day will be an opportunity to ski around the refuge before returning to the vehicles.

If you want to discover other massifs with skis, I also propose a mini raid in the Northern Alps, the high road Arolla-Zermatt in the Valais, as well as ski touring in the Piedmont.

Program

D1: On-piste and off-piste skiing in Aussois.
Departure from Annecy at 7am to carpool (about 2 hours drive) or meeting in Aussois in the Maurienne valley at 9am.
Throughout this day of skiing, we will take the time to make technical corrections and practice.

D2: Ski touring.
The exact itinerary will be defined on the spot according to the snow and weather conditions.
Several options are possible above the refuge: Col du Moine, Col de Labby, Pointe Chevrière, etc.

D3: Ski tour and return to the resort.
We leave for a second day of ski touring from the refuge.
Back in Annecy around 6pm.

The price includes

• Supervision by the mountain guide.
• The guide's fees.
• Loan of safety equipment (avalanche beacon, shovel, probe).
• First aid kit.

The price does not include

• Transport to and from Aussois, about 1 hour and fifteen minutes drive from Chambéry and 2 hours from Annecy (carpooling possible).
• Ski touring insurance.
• Skipass.
• Accommodation.
• Dinner and breakfast in the hut.
• Drinks and extras.
• Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".
