Description
The Furon canyon in its upper part is a great Grenoble classic in terms of canyoning because of its playful character!
Located in the Vercors massif, the Furon is a very nice initiation, not engaged, to discover all the facets of the activity: slides, jump, abseiling, cave, tyrolean, etc...
The Furon canyon is accessible to beginners as well as to the more athletic, as each obstacle can be negotiated in several ways. Indeed, in canyoning, jumps are rare, because there is always a way to go around them or to offer a nice abseiling!
The lower part of the Furon, quieter, can be used as a complement to offer a nice day trip!

If you want to enjoy other descents around Grenoble after this canyoning session, I recommend the spectacular Infernet canyon in Chartreuse and the lower part of the Ecouges canyon also located in the Vercors.
Program
We will meet directly at the car park of the canyon. Road D531 (road towards Villard-de-Lans) which goes up from Sassenage to Lans-en-Vercors. The car park is located in the middle of a big curve, on the right, about 7,5 kilometers after the huge roundabout located at the bottom of the climb.
The exact schedule will depend on the day and the period of the year. I will try to avoid as much as possible the strong affluences and thus I should propose shifted departures.
Appointment time at the canyon car park:
- Morning group: between 8 and 9am depending on the period of year.
- Afternoon group: between 12.30 and 2pm depending on the period of the year.
Will follow a 25 minutes approach walking, about 2.5 hours in the water and a 5 minutes walk back.
Things to bring:
- Swimsuit.
- Sneakers to go in the water.
- A leash if you have to take your glasses with you.
- One bottle of water (1.5 litre for two).
- Some snacks or a picnic if you go for the day.
The price includes
- Supervision by the canyoning instructor.
- Loan of technical equipment necessary for the practice of the activity (5mm wetsuit, neoprene sock, harness, double lanyard, belay device, helmet).
Rate of 48 € / person or group rate of 44 € / person for groups already made up of at least 6 people.
The price does not include
- Transport to and from the meeting point between Grenoble and Lans-en-Vercors.
- Snacks.
- Drinks.
- Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".
