Description

Also known as the tourist route or the Coca-Cola route, the Marangu route is both the most convenient and the shortest way to reach Uhuru Peak at the summit of Kilimanjaro. It is also the oldest of the routes used.

It is at once the least difficult, the most practical and the shortest way to reach Uhuru Peak at the top of Kilimanjaro. It is also the oldest of the routes used.

70% of people wanting to climb Kilimanjaro choose to take this route as it mainly involves easy hikes.

Although this is considered the "easiest" route, it also has a high failure rate due to poor preparation. If you consider the road seriously and prepare effectively, everything will be fine.

The Marangu route is not considered picturesque like the other roads of Kilimanjaro but it has the advantage of being able to stay in huts all along the route. This is all the more a good choice during the rainy season (April, May, November) because they offer a suitable shelter.

During the ascent, luggage is taken to the bivouacs by porters. It is possible to store some of your travel effects at the hotel in Arusha.

Luggage is carried to the bivouacs by porters throughout the ascent, so you carry only a small backpack with water and a few clothes for the day. It is also possible to store the rest of your luggage at the hotel in Arusha.

Concerning altitude, we are equipped with a hyperbaric chamber during the ascent. However, it is advisable to check with a doctor before departure that you have no contraindications to a stay

To optimize your acclimatization, you can also follow me to climb Mount Meru.

If you prefer to climb Kilimanjaro by another route, I also offer the Rongaï, Lemosho and Machame routes.

And to round off your stay in Tanzania, you can follow me for one or more safaris I offer on my profile page.
