It is the wild and unknown Belledonne Massif which will be during this week the theater of beautiful hikes for the pretty good hikers.

For me it is undoubtedly the wildest massif of France, that's why it remains quite unknown. I have the daily happiness to see it from my balcony and it's been a long time since I wanted to organize internships.

A new hiking route has been traced and it is considered more difficult than the GR20 in Corsica!

Fortunately, there are many mid-level hikes available and this is the planned program.

D1: arrival at Collet d'Allevard, reception of participants and installation in the chalets from 4pm. Dinner at the cottage restaurant and overnight at the cottages.

D2: Col de La Perrière (2003m).
Breakfast and travel by car to the ex resort of Val Pelouse. For this first day of warm-up and for some people discovering the Art of walking, we will make the tour of the Montagne d'Arvillard and its magnificent panoramas, from Mont Blanc to the Chartreuse and of course to the Belledonne Massif. We start by a quiet crossing to the chalets of Gargotton (1410m) before starting the climb that will lead us to the sources of Gargotton (1630m) where we follow an old glacial moraine to reach the Col de la Perrière (2003m). From there two solutions are offered to us: a descent on the refuge of the Perrière or a gentle crossing. Since we have practiced the Hara exercise to take root, I will probably opt for the descent.
10km and 5h walk, + 600m / -600m vertical drop.

D3: Tour of the Grande Montagne de Presle by the Col de la Perche.
Breakfast and drive to Prodin Chapel by the forest track. One of my favorite hikes with its magnificent panoramas, the variety of its landscapes and the passage to 3 small refuges that make you want to stay there to contemplate the mountain. From the Chapel of Prodin, the trail climbs immediately to the refuge of Grande Montagne, crosses that of Plattières before climbing to the Col de la Perche (1984m), at the foot of the Pointe de Rognier (2341m) . We then descend on the col d'Albarétan, pass near the private refuge of Plan before climbing gently on the ridge that we follow a while before descending to the chapel Prodin.
12km and 5h walk, + 775m / -775m vertical drop.

D4: Crêt du Poulet (1726m).
Breakfast and travel by car to the Barioz nordic ski resort car park.
The ascent begins in a forest then the profile softens. Just after the departure on the left we can make a hook to the lake Crèvecoeur. The Crêts d'Allevard site has a very large number of peat bogs. This small lake being filled is home to a very rich fauna. The trail then passes near the Pierre Roubet meadow, and continues towards the Crêt du Poulet, near which is the refuge of the same name. From the orientation table is offered to us a 360 degree panorama. We continue on the ridge facing south to Crêt Luisard at the foot of which is the small lake of Belle Aiguette, then to the Grand Rocher, passing near a peat bog and its many dragonflies. From the Grand Rocher (1926m) we take the path back to a point where a shortcut allows us to descend directly on the pasture Piere Roubet and from there to the car park.
10km and 4h30 walk, + 630m / -630m vertical drop.

D5: Lac du Léat (1720m).
Breakfast and drive to Gleyzin. Today the hike has a higher altitude than the previous days, it will be an opportunity to check that with the practice of the Art of Walking, everything becomes easier. It's also a wilder day, the atmosphere is more alpine! We climb first towards the refuge of Oule then we leave the path that leads there and cross wetlands before arriving at the high point of the day, the Pine Stone (1904m). We descend then towards the lake and Leat cottage, one of the many hut not kept Belledonne, a place of peace where the mind delights to imagine staying there at night! Return through the forest of Combe Grasse while contemplating the passage of beautiful fir trees, then we go down to our starting point in Gleyzin.
10km and 5h walk, + 800m / -800m vertical drop.

D6: col de Claran (1956m) and approach to Petit Charnier (2181m).
Breakfast and travel by car to Super Collet. Today we will walk a little at the beginning and end on the area of Collet d'Allevard, small family resort, to go to contemplate other magnificent panoramas including the Belledonne chain but also Mont Blanc. The altitude difference will depend on the shape of the group after the previous day. We will be able to climb easily to the pass of Claran while passing by the refuge of the Pierre du Carre then to continue towards Petit Charnier by the way of aesthetic crest until the moment where it becomes more technical. On the return we will leave towards the point of the Plagnes, the collar of the Occiput before going down again on super Collet.
11km and 4h30 walk, +450 to 550m / -450 to 550m vertical drop.

D7: Combe Madame refuge (1784m).
Breakfast and travel by car to the car park near Lake Ferrière. The mountain pasture Combe Madame is a pretty little alpine hut, located in the chain of Belledonne, in the town of Ferrière. Perched at an altitude of 1784 meters in the heart of a wild and preserved massif, it is located on the path of the routes of the Col de la Croix and the Rocher Blanc.
The access to the refuge is quite easy, the first part follows the powerful stream that winds through the spruce forest and leads us to the alp. This is where the 800 sheeps and lambs graze under the supervision of the young shepherds. Then, the path will lead us little by little to the refuge, where Emma (the guardian) and Julien and Chloe (the shepherds) reserve us a warm welcome! Return by the same route.
