Mountaineering course: progression towards autonomy (Haute-Maurienne)
from 320 € / p. from 3 to 6 personsInfos & Booking
This mountaineering course has been designed to give you the essential keys to an autonomous practice on glacier.
It takes place in Haute-Maurienne massif, starting from a perfect hut to climb two beautiful glacier summits allowing many apprenticeships.
This course takes place with a guide trainer/teacher in small groups for you to progressively (if you wish) take the lead on part of the routes envisaged.
D1: Hike to the Evettes hut.
Meeting at Bessans (carpooling possible from Grenoble or Albertville in the early morning). After a coffee to know each other and share the program of the three days, we go up to the refuge in the beautiful circus of Evettes.
In the afternoon: workshop to learn the different rope technics on glaciers and the management of rope lengths.
D2: First outing on the glacier of the Grand Méant (3253m).
You will learn and revise crampon techniques, you will use the rope technics seen the day before. After the ascent of the summit, we will take the time for a crevasse hauling exercise.
D3: Ascent of the Albaron.
This is the moment of the beautiful realization of the weekend by going to the top of the Albaron (big summit at 3637m) with its complex glacier and its ridge leading to the summit. This is an ideal learning ground to concretize the work done during the 2 previous days.
Welcome for this experience in the preserved and wild world of the Haute-Maurienne, in the beautiful mood of a small group turned towards its autonomy.
