Fiz tour from Chamonix, between Giffre and Mont Blanc
from 595 € / p. from 1 to 8 personsInfos & Booking
This 5-day trek is rich by the diversity of the sites it crosses: reserves of Passy and Sixt, Désert de Platé, waterfalls and altitude lakes... always with the Mont Blanc as a backdrop.
Facing this Mont Blanc, you cross the largest Haute-Savoie nature reserve: Sixt-Passy. This route is both mineral with these unique lapiaz, of world-renowned geological rarity, but also alpine and lacustrine with the Anterne lake. You go up the river, passing in front of sumptuous waterfalls, until we reach the mountain pastures.
Go for a complete immersion far from civilization between paths and refuges, on the territory of marmots, chamois and ibexes.
It is also possible to do the Tour des Fiz in 3 or 4 days if you prefer.
Special price for children.
D1: Chamonix - Plan Praz - Brévent pass - Moede Anterne hut.
The cable car takes you from Chamonix to Planpraz. There begins your hike to the col de Brévent in the Aiguilles Rouges natural park. Descent into the wild valley of the Diosaz river. You can spend the night in the beautiful mountain hut Moede Anterne.
Distance :10,5km, altitude differences: +850m, -850m.
D2: Moede Anterne hut - Wills hut - Fonts hut - Sales hut.
After breakfast, we go up to the col d'Anterne in about an hour. We are now very close to the Fiz mountains. A highlight of the hike awaits you: the beautiful turquoise Anterne lake. It is the largest mountain lake in Haute-Savoie. We take our time to enjoy the beautiful lake, then we go down by the Cabane des Wills. We continue towards the small Col d'Anterne (2038m) passing by heather flowers and the Fiz barrier. At the refuge des Fonts located in the mysterious Combe de Fonts, we will take another short break.
All that's missing is a gastronomic visit to the Lignon inn and the ascent to the Sales hut. In the footsteps of Sales, you walk along a passage carved into the rock in 1861. The noisy torrent disappears with the resurgence of Trainant. An impressive silence reigns upstream, where the small chapel dating from 1642 announces our arrival at the mountain pasture of Sales (1877m). We often see a colony of ibex there.
Night at the Sales hut.
Altitude differences: +1100m, -1300m.
D3: Sales hut - Platé hut.
We have time this morning to observe the nature and wild animals around the refuge, before crossing the Portette pass (2354m) from where we will switch to the Platé desert. In a colourful, mineral and dry environment, this high limestone plateau shelters the longest network of underground galleries in Europe.
Night at the Platé hut.
Distance: 14km, altitude differences: +1050m, -890m.
D4: Platé hut - Varan hut - Plaine Joux - Châtelet d'Ayères hut.
We continue our loop in the morning pallor, towards the chalets of Burallaz that we don't reach because the climb to the Frioland pass allows us to reach the chalet of La Charbonnière and the factory's ford. We then head towards Plaine Joux and from there we have only one hour left to reach our refuge of the day.
Night at the Châtelet d'Ayres hut.
Distance: 16km, altitude differences: +600m, -1300m.
D5: Pormenaz lake - Servoz.
Between the Fiz and Aiguilles Rouges massifs, the mountain and the Pormenaz lake raise a massive silhouette with soft shapes that contrast with the steepness of the Fiz rocks and the whiteness of the Mont Blanc glaciers. The mountain pastures of Pormenaz suspended above the Diosaz gorges and the bleeding of the Souay torrent vibrate to the rhythm of the bleating of a large herd of sheep. A last descent to the small village of Le Mont and to Servoz and we finished our beautiful tour of Les Fiz.
Altitude differences: +900m, -1000m.
