Choranche via corda (Vercors massif)

Description

I would like to invite you to join me on the via corda of Choranche for a lovely walk at height. Accessible to all, it's the perfect way to discover the thrill of heights without scaring yourself.

Located in the Vercors massif, on the Presles cliff, this route takes us 50 metres above the ground, and the view over the valley gives an even greater vertiginous atmosphere. All roped up together, we progress along the route.

Located in the south of the Vercors massif, on the Presles cliff and in the immediate vicinity of the famous and magnificent Choranche cave, this route takes you 50 meters above the ground, and the view over the valley gives an even greater impression of emptiness. This activity is similar to via ferrata, with the difference that the lifeline is a rope rather than a steel cable, and that we progress along the route obligatorily roped up all together.

The Choranche via corda is divided into three distinct sections:

• We start with a bit of easy climbing to reach the comfortable ledge (50 meters high). For this part, I climb first and set up everything so that everyone can climb safely.
• The itinerary then continues with a long traverse on a horizontal ledge (a narrow path in the middle of a cliff and on the edge of the void), on a tight rope, with a surprising little break in a suspended cave!
• Finally, a 50-meter vertical abseil takes us back to the ground in total safety. Thrills are guaranteed!

This activity can also be combined with the unique experience of a night on a cliff in the Vercors (or Chartreuse) massif. Program

• Meet at the Choranche caves parking lot, a 30-minute drive from Lans-en-Vercors, one hour from Grenoble and two hours from Lyon.
• 30-minute walk to the start of the via.
• Approximately two hours to equip and complete the via corda.
• 10-minute return walk to the parking lot.

The price includes

• Supervision by the climbing instructor.
• Equipment required for the activity: helmet, harness, lanyards, as well as collective equipment: ropes, quickdraws, etc.
• Souvenir photos.

The price does not include

• Return transport to Choranche caves.
• Individual insurance for risky sports (daily subscription available here).
• Snacks.
• Drinks.
• Anything not mentioned in "Price includes".
