One-day intro to single pitch climbing around Digne

Description

I would like to invite you to spend a day discovering climbing on one of the cliffs around Digne-les-Bains in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region of France.

During this introduction, you will have the opportunity to learn the basics of climbing, namely :

• Learn and practice the essential knots for good climbing practice.
• Develop and practice movement skills for face climbing.
• Belaying skills (rope handling) with atc/tube style and brake assist devices.
• Understand universal climbing terms and proper communication.
• And, of course, climbing on rock.

No previous experience is necessary to participate!
This course is open to children aged 7 and over with parental supervision.
The outing is confirmed from 4 participants. But if you are a group of less than 4 people, a private outing is possible at the price of 4 people.

Here are some examples of cliffs where we might practice:

• Falaise des arches: Located in Digne-les-Bains, this fast, easy-access site is climbable even in high summer. It's an ideal area for families and for beginners on the "barre des dalles". Some fifteen routes await you, generally easy and fairly steep, on beautiful limestone rock.
• Courbons: Only 4 kilometers northwest of the center of Digne-les-Bains, this limestone cliff offers around 80 routes, from 10 to 30 meters high, suitable for all levels of climber. The site offers all types of exposure, making it suitable for climbing all year round.
• Rocher de Valbonnette in Chabrières: 17 kilometers from Digne-les-Bains on the road to Nice, this compact limestone cliff offers routes of all levels of difficulty. With heights of up to 40 meters, most routes are bolted on a beautiful slab that is pleasant to climb from spring to autumn.

Program

• Meet directly at the parking lot of one of the cliffs around Digne-les-Bains.
  The exact spot will be defined before the session by telephone, taking into account your ulterior experience and your location.
• The climbing activity lasts 6 hours.

The price includes

• Supervision by the climbing instructor.
• All gear necessary to climb in security can be provided (climbing shoes, harness, helmet, quickdraws, rope, etc.).

The price does not include

• Return transport to the rendez-vous point.
• Picnic lunch.
• Snacks.
• Drinks.
• Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".
