Description

I invite you to get your fill of thrills and discover the Arnette gorges in a different way, by exploring the Mazamet via ferrata together, a route located below and above the Himalayan footbridge leading to the medieval village of Hautpoul.

In the heart of the Tarn department, this itinerary accessible to beginners and children aged 7 and over, is perfect for discovering the activity and enjoying the magnificent surroundings and views. It is also a chance for you to defy the heights and play the balancing adventurous in complete safety.

After a twenty-minute approach walk in the woods and a briefing about equipment and safety, it is time to start the route bolted in the cliff. Opened in 2022, the Mazamet via ferrata gradually rises above the Arnette river, and it allows to cross from one bank to the other via 3 different and successive zip lines, nevertheless not mandatory. But it would be a shame not to take them and get your fill of thrills! Between those ziplines, you move along a rocky, fun-filled itinerary with its many beams and monkey bridges. Once we have reached the footbridge, we continue up the rock to the medieval castel of Hautpoul. After a well-deserved break, it is time to head back to the parking lot, thanks to a final zip line - the highest and longest of all - and some easy walking.

Please notice that the Mazamet via ferrata is suitable for people measuring at least 1.35 meter and weighing between 40 kg and 120 kg.

If you are interested in other routes in the Tarn department, I also propose to climb the Sor gorges via ferrata in Malamort. You can also follow me for an extraordinary adventure and spend a dinner and a night on a cliff in the Pyrenees or in Occitanie or try indoor climbing in Toulouse.
