Malamort via ferrata (Tarn)

Description

I invite you to follow me on the Malamort via ferrata to fill up with thrills and spills and discover diferently the Sor gorges located close to Durfort, a small artisan village in the Montagne Noire.

In the heart of the Tarn department, this route, which is accessible to beginners and children aged 7 and over, is perfect for discovering via ferrata activity and enjoying a beautiful environment and magnificent views.

After a ten-minute approach walk in the woods and a briefing about equipment and safety, it's time to tackle the equipped course in the cliff.

The first part takes place in a peaceful forest environment, crossing several times over the tumultuous waters of the Sor river: two footbridges and a Tibetan bridge allow you to pass between the cliffs overlooking the Malamort chasm. The via then divides momentarily into an easy and a more difficult section, which meet before the first zip line. After this one and a short common part, the routes diverge permanently: the easier via ferrata offers a traverse over the rock before a long zip line that leads back to the approach path. The more challenging itinerary, meanwhile, continues to gain height, taking in a few small vertical walls and two vertiginous crossings over a Tibetan bridge and then a monkey bridge, before also ending with a zip-line.
Finally, whichever route you take, after a well-deserved break by the water, it is time to take an easy walk back to the parking lot.

All in all, this via ferrata is a fun, accessible and enjoyable itinerary.

Please note that the Malamort via ferrata is suitable for people over 1.40 meter tall and weighing at least 45 kg.

Program

• Meet between the villages of Durfort and Les Cammazes, at the parking lot of the Malamort via ferrata, about one hour's drive from Toulouse and 5 minutes from Revel.
• Equipment distribution and briefing.
• 10-minute walk to the start of the via.
• Approximately 2 hours on the via ferrata.
• 10-minute return walk to the parking lot.
• Total time around 2 hours and a half.

The price includes

• Supervision by the climbing instructor.
• Loan of safety equipment adapted to the activity: harness, helmet, via ferrata lanyard with energy absorber, rope, pulley, etc.
• Individual insurance.

• Return transport to the via ferrata parking lot.
