Jardin d'Endieu via corda (Ardèche)

Description

I propose you to join me for an exhilarating half-day in the Jardin d'Endieu via corda in Southern Ardèche.

During this adventure, which combines climbing and vertiginous mountain walking, you will discover some spectacular scenery above the Chassezac river. At the foot of Mont Lozère and in the heart of the Païolive forest, you will negotiate obstacles clinged to a lifeline and perfectly secured in your harness. The descent will be a thrilling experience as you abseil 40 meters down a vertical spider's thread (no contact with the rock), landing close to the water.

I will also give you advice on how to improve your technique and make the most of this exceptional and unforgettable adventure.

After a ten-minute approach walk on a steep path, we reach the 40-meter-high ledge, which we follow horizontally to circle the Casteljau peninsula. Above the limestone Chassezac gorges, you will alternate between walking and easy climbing, crossing a small cave, some monkey bridges and a zip line before the final abseil.

The vertiginous trip is open to anyone in good physical condition (no previous experience is required) and with no medical contraindications to climbing. You must be at least 12 years old, over 1m40 tall and weigh less than 120kg.

The schedule is subject to change at the last minute, depending on weather conditions, the number of people registered, etc.

If you fancy a refreshing water experience nearby, I also offer canyoning in the Haute Borne gorges in Ardèche or in the Haut Chassezac gorges in the Cévennes region.

Program

• Meet in the morning at 9am or in the afternoon 1.30pm at the Agachou parking lot in Berrias-Casteljau.
  Allow 15 minutes' drive from Les Vans, 20 minutes from Ruoms and Alès, 30 minutes from Vallon-Pont-d'Arc and Aubenas, 1 hour from Larnas and one hour and 15 minutes from Bagnols-sur-Cèze.
• 10-minute walk to the start of the via corda.
• Approximately 2 hours and a half of activity.
• 20-minute return walk to the parking lot.
• A total of around 3 hours' activity.

The price includes

• Supervision by the instructor.
• All the equipment you need for the activity: helmet, harness, backpack, rope, etc.
• A photo report of your outing.

The price does not include

• Return transport to the meeting place near Berrias-Casteljau.
• Sportswear (swimming costume in summer).
• Sports shoes.
• At least 1 liter of water (plastic bottle) for 2 people.
• Snacks (cereal bar).
• A lanyard if you wear glasses.
• An elastic band to tie up long hair.
• A change of clothes after the activity.
• Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".
