Fleurs Jaunes canyon (Cilaos)

Description

Are you dreaming of a canyoning descent with long, beautiful abseils down a waterfall and a breathtaking view of the Cirque de Cilaos? Look no further, this is the place to be!

Fleurs Jaunes is one of the most beautiful canyons on Réunion Island! You will enjoy there no fewer than 7 abseils - from 15 to 55 meters high - done in autonomy but under my supervision. I will also be offering you a few small jumps and several slides in natural toboggans, as well as an optional long slide for the more adventurous... You will be swimming in turquoise water in the middle of an incredible environment, in a narrow mineral gorge dominated by large rock faces, but nevertheless sunny in the morning. Enough to leave you with unforgettable memories!
The ascent back to the parking lot takes around 45 minutes, via the "Faut y croire" ridge, and ends with a vertiginous via corda that you won't soon forget... a vertical must!

This descent of the Fleurs Jaunes canyon is accessible from the age of 14 to anyone capable of walking for an hour on a steep ascent without insurmountable vertigo.

The more sporty can opt for the full route of Fleurs Jaunes canyon  (price 110€), which includes a picnic by the edge of an exceptional little-known basin and two abseils, one of which is a 90-meter spider's thread one into the famous "chapelle" of Cilaos. This is the perfect way to make a great entrance to this must-see hiking destination on Réunion Island. Afterwards, it is a 2-hour walk back on a beautiful path back to the parking lot!

If you are in the mood for other water adventures on Reunion Island, I would also recommend descending the nearby Bras Rouge canyon (also available in its full version), the magnificent Trou Blanc canyon in Salazie cirque or canyoning down the Langevin river in the south of the island.

Program

• Meet in the town of Cilaos.
• Equipped with neoprene wetsuits and safety gear.
• 10-minute approach walk to the reach the start of the canyoning descent.
