Description

Imagine jumping into large pools of clear water, sliding down slides sculpted by a river over thousands of years. That's the setting! To get there, a small dead-end road leads to a village perched above the torrent, with mountains and ancient forests.

This is the canyon of Rabou, located in the Dévoluy massif, in the heart of the Hautes-Alpes department, some twenty minutes' drive east of Gap.

This is undoubtedly the region's most entertaining canyoning route. Ideal for families, it's a sure bet! Everything is designed to put you at your ease, with large and small slides, pretty jumps (up to 8 meters high, but never mandatory) to make or bypass as you please - it's up to you! Finally, a magnificent abseil down a waterfall brings you to a monumental final basin.

The Rabou canyon is perfect for families (children aged 8 and over) or for a good time with friends!

Practice days: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, mornings or afternoons.

If you fancy more water adventures in the region, we can also descend the Rouanette canyon in the Champsaur together. You can also opt for vertical challenges, such as the Rouanne via ferrata above Ancelle, the Agnielles gorges via ferrata in the Buëch or the ascent of Mont Aiguille.

Program

Meet at the canyon parking lot, 9km west of Gap in the village of Rabou.
Equipment includes neoprene wetsuit and socks, harness and helmet.
All you need to bring is your swimsuit and sports shoes (sneakers, walking shoes, no water shoes).
10-minute downhill approach walk to the start of the canyon.
About an hour and a half of canyoning activity.
20-minute walk uphill through the forest back to the parking lot.

The price includes

Supervision by the mountain guide.
Loan of personal equipment required for the activity: 5mm neoprene wetsuit, neoprene socks, helmet and harness.
Loan of safety equipment: ropes, carabiners, etc.

The price does not include

Return transport to the parking lot of Rabou canyon.
Snacks.
Drinks.
Personal equipment: shoes (sneakers or walking shoes) and swimsuit.
Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".
