Rouannette canyon (Ancelle, Hautes-Alpes)

Description

Let's explore the Rouannette canyon together, in the heart of the Champsaur valley, above the village of Ancelle.  You will enjoy a magnificent environment, in mountain pastures at an altitude of 1600 meters, at the gateway to the Écrins National Park, renowned for its wide open spaces and unspoilt nature.

Together, we will descend a beautiful mountain torrent, very steep, with no major difficulties, but very pretty and quite long. After distribution of equipment (wetsuit, harness and helmet), we set off for a 30-minute walk through the meadows. Ewes and marmots watch you go by in your funny outfit.
Then it's off down the cool, crystal-clear water, punctuated by natural slides carved into the rock, rope descents, walking sections and little jumps (never mandatory) to the bottom of this spectacular gorge. Two hours later, you will arrive directly at our starting point to warm up in the Southern Alps sunshine.

Program

• Meet at town hall parking lot in Ancelle at the time indicated beforehand.
• Transport by 9-seater car to the via parking lot at the bottom of the Rouanne valley.
• Wetsuit, harness and helmet on your back for a 30-minute uphill walk to the start of the canyon.
  All you need to bring is your swimsuit and sports shoes (sneakers, walking shoes, no water shoes).
• Equipment and safety briefing.
• Approximately two hours of canyoning.
• Short walk back to the parking lot.

The price includes

• Supervision by the mountain guide.
• Loan of equipment required for the activity: 5mm neoprene wetsuit, neoprene socks, helmet and harness.
• Transport from the village of Ancelle to the canyon parking lot (5km forest track).

The price does not include

• Return transport to Ancelle, about 30 minutes' drive north of Gap.
• Snacks.
• Drinks.
• Personal equipment: shoes (sneakers or walking shoes) and swimsuit.
• Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".
