Description

Are you looking for wide open spaces and peace and quiet?
I have got just the thing: ski touring!

All right, there's a price to pay: there are no chairlifts, so you have to climb by muscle power... But what a joy it is to let your skis glide along the guide's track, with no sound other than your own breath. And what can I say about the satisfaction of arriving at the summit, when all around you is white, no ski lifts (still...), the jackdaws come to see if there's any way of scratching a bit of your snack and you say to yourself: "Now, how am I going to get back down?" And yes, there are no groomed slopes either! After a little hesitation and a first fall to check that the snow is still cold (especially in the neck), you are off, the soft snow crunching under your skis and you feel yourself floating above this immaculate layer, an intense happiness invades you and you say to yourself "ouahhh!".

Ski tours are tailor-made to suit your level (physical and technical). They take place in the Dévoluy massif or the Champsaur valley, both just a few kilometers north of Gap. These two spots offer a multitude of ski touring routes, for all levels, with altitude gains ranging from low to very high, in all orientations, often quite wild and little frequented, and at altitudes up to 3000 meters. It's the assurance of finding, whatever the conditions, a route that matches your expectations and offers good quality snow on the descent.

Prices:

  • 90€/person for group outings (starting from 4 people).
  • from 360€ (divided by the number of participants) for private outings (from 1 to 8 people).

If you have some experience of ski touring and mountaineering, I recommend this incredible day of ski-mountaineering in the Dévoluy, discovering the Chourum Olympique or the Traversée Héroïque. You can also try your hand at ice climbing in the Champsaur valley.
