Horloge via ferrata (L'Argentière-la-Bessée)

Description

I invite you to join me on a trip along the beautiful Horloge via ferrata, located above the village of L'Argentière-la-Bessée in the heart of the Hautes-Alpes department.

This route is the perfect opportunity to discover the basics of via ferrata with family or friends. Throughout the route, I will be at your side, available to advise and assist you on the various passages. The length can be adjusted to suit each person's abilities, as it is possible to exit before the end.

After equipping ourselves with the specific gear, a short approach walk will take us to the start of the via ferrata, where I will brief you on the techniques and safety precautions. We will then begin the ascent to the Clock Tower via a first wall followed by a dihedral, before two other wall separated by a downward traverse. The atmosphere becomes more vertiginous as we climb, and a final, slightly athletic wall leads to the summit plateau. From here, you can look out over the Durance valley and admire the mountains of the Queyras massif opposite you. The descent back to the parking lot is via a trail and another section of via ferrata.

Throughout this route at the foot of the Écrins massif, you will enjoy magnificent panoramic views of the surrounding high peaks.

Program

• Meet at the via ferrata parking lot in L'Argentière-la-Bessée.
• We will get kitted out with the equipment together in the car park.
• 5-minute walk to the start of the via.
• Briefing.
• Approximately 1 hour climbing the via ferrata.
• Return to the parking lot via a short walk of around 15 minutes.

The price includes

• Supervision by the climbing instructor.
• Loan of the equipment needed for the activity: harness, helmet, via ferrata lanyard with energy absorber.

The price does not include

• Return transport to the village of L'Argentière-la-Bessée, 20 minutes drive from Briançon and one hour 15 minutes froms Gap.
• Snacks.
• Drinks.
• Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".
