Nant de Rossane via ferrata for kids (Les Aillons)

Description

I invite you to join me on the Nant de Rossane via ferrata, a perfect route for a first family climbing experience in the heart of the Savoie department. Designed to be accessible and fun, it's the easiest via ferrata I recommend for beginners and children as young as 5 or 6.

Here, there are no strenuous athletic sections, but a gentle progression on beautiful sculpted limestone, perfectly equipped for little hands and legs. The highlight? A spectacular yet safe footbridge that allows children to confidently experience their first sensations of heights. It's the perfect playground to learn climbing techniques while enjoying a wild setting and magnificent views of the Bauges mountain range peaks.

Program

• Meet at the Aillons-Margériaz 1000 ski resort parking lot.
  Allow 40 minutes drive from Chambéry and one hour from Annecy.
• 10-minute approach walk through the forest, flat, easy hike, perfect for keeping children fresh before the activity begins.
• "Child-specific" equipment and briefing: harnesses and helmets will be fitted. Fun explanations will be given on how to use the carabiners and safety rules.
• Via ferrata (1 to 1.5 hours):
  • The introduction: a gentle start on low-sloping slabs.
  • The fun footbridge: crossing a suspension bridge designed for younger children for unforgettable memories.
  • The summit: arrival on a grassy plateau to admire the view before starting the descent.
• 15-minute walk back to the parking lot via an easy path.
