Infos & BookingDescription
Overlooking the charming town of Thônes, the capital of Reblochon cheese, the La Roche à l'Agathe via ferrata is a distinctive route, considered one of the great classics of the Haute-Savoie department. Nestled against the Aravis mountain range, this limestone cliff offers a sustained vertical climb with breathtaking views of the Fier valley and the surrounding peaks.
The route is renowned for its vertiginous atmosphere and its progressively challenging configuration. After a varied first section of traverses and short, steep sections that allow you to warm up and get into the swing of things, the route offers three different exits to suit all fitness levels: from the classic, very overhanging route for the more athletic to the famous and formidable inverted ladder (facing the void) for the most adventurous. In short, this is the perfect adventure for those seeking thrills and a physical challenge just a stone's throw from Annecy.
If you would like to continue the adventure, I also suggest other routes in the region:
- the Revaclier via ferrata in Saint-Julien-en-Genevois,
- the easy Nant de Rossane via ferrata in Les Aillons,
- and the Roc du Cornillon via ferrata in Savoie.
You can also follow me for a half-day of discovering climbing in Annecy or Aix-les-Bains.
