I discovered climbing more than 30 years ago on the British sea cliffs. I was immediately hooked and from that day onwards climbing has influenced and guided my choices in life. I am originally from Germany but have lived in France now since 2007. I completed my French guiding diploma, the Brevet d’État d’escalade in 2012.

Initially climbing was a way for me to discover the world and myself. For many years I explored many aspects of climbing: trad, sport, big wall, alpine, boulder, ice and expeditions. Little by little with age and experience my outlook and my philosophy towards climbing evolved and changed. These days, it is pure rock climbing which animates me most and I discovered the Gorges du Tarn in 2017. In 2021 I decided to stay and settle in this beautiful area, and today I live  in close proximity of the Gorges du Tarn, Gorges de la Jonte and Gorges de la Dourbie.

Right from the beginning of my personal climbing journey it was the joy of moving in the vertical that fascinated me. I always liked feeling my body in motion on the rock and I have always been interested and curious about how to find that magic balance where body and mind become one and movement becomes effortless.

This passion of finding balance and well being in and through movement has led me in 2012 to the Alexander Technique and I received my diploma to be a teacher of this technique in 2023. My climbing teaching and coaching today is influenced by its philosophy.

No matter how little or how much experience you have, if you wish to either discover or progress in climbing please don’t hesitate to contact me.

I propose:

  • 1 : 1 coaching and instructing in sport climbing, trad climbing or multi pitch climbing (all levels welcome).
  • Workshops and courses (3 - 5 days) in very small groupes (2 - 6 people maximum depending on the type of workshop):
    • "Climb Zen": 3-day fear of falling workshop during which we will be looking at how to navigate and regulate our fear of falling in order to feel more confident, knowledgeable and at ease in our climbing.
    • "Climbing & the Alexander Technique": 5-day workshop that invites you to explore how the Alexander Technique can be a powerful tool to transform your climbing towards increased presence, calm and efficiency.
    • "Inside Out": a 4-day course for climbers who want to do the transition from indoor to outdoor climbing.

Ghita BIAZ,
Departure : 1-1 coaching

Departure : one to one coaching

Having been climbing for more than 40 years it wasn't easy to commit to getting professional coaching. However, the few days I had with Jude were both great fun and incredibly instructive. I found Jude to be a superb coach who adapted each session to exactly what I needed.

Benjamin MOELING,
Departure : wonderful coach and teacher

Jude has been so great to climb with. She helped me and my spouse get past blockages in our climbing. She taught us new ways to approach climbs, to deal with falling, so be safe and appreciate the rock, and to use our bodies in ways that make climbing smoother, more natural and more fun. We go back to see her regularly, and when we climb together we're always reminding each other of something we've learned from Jude. "What would Jude say?" is our most common comment to each other! Actually climbing with her in a guide situation, rather than a teaching situation, is wonderful too - she's fun to climb with, and also a beautiful, strong climber who somehow inspires without intimidating. Just don't watch that video where she places protection with her toes on a hard trad route!

I have known Jude for about 10 years and I have had 1-1 coaching with her a few times. She has an holistic approach to climbing coaching, rather than focussing on say finger strength or fear of falling. She assesses a climber and then works with them based on what they want, not a fixed list of exercises that all clients must do. The process feels very personal, and of course she is a very accomplished climber and you know she is giving advice based on her own experiences.
If you want to learn to be a better climber, whatever that means to you, then I can recommend Jude 100%.

Working with Jude is always a joy and full of discovery at what is possible. She excels at helping you learn more precise and intentional movement that quietly advances your climbing. Jude is also effective at shifting your mental perspective when tackling moves or routes outside of your comfort zone.

Merci encore Jude !

Jonny BAIRD,
Departure : review

Judes coaching manner is friendly and encouraging and always showing empathy.
Jude goes well beyond the "must get stronger" and focuses on movement, tactics and headspace.
The sessions on warming up have proved invaluable to all of us and we regularly refer when at the crag to "snippets of gold" that Jude gave us.
Jude also has an excellent ability to demonstrate anything she teaches.
Highly recommended !

Jude is the horse whisperer of climbing coaches. With an uncanny eye for movement, she quickly identifies what helps and what holds you back, and responds with intuitive, calm and empathetic coaching that fosters confidence and refined technique.

Elise MARTIN,

Merci encore Judith !
