Description
If there is a wild and secluded place, it is this part of the Écrins National Park on the borders of Valgaudemar. While being close to the huts, the solitude is guaranteed. It is the assurance of meeting a preserved and authentic mountain almost exclusively crossed in summer by the numerous sheep and some shepherds...
This trekking in the Hautes-Alpes is for good hikers capable of making a daily effort for about 8 hours. The solitude of the place, the difference in altitude and the length of the itinerary make it a long-distance hike that a pretty high pass (at about 2592 meters) on an off-trail route will punctuate.
To continue discovering the region, I also offer a complete tour of the Écrins and a hiking and mushrooming weekend in the Champsaur.
Program
D1: From the Gioberney parking lot (1635m) to the Vallonpierre hut (2279m).
We meet in La Chapelle-en-Valgaudemar at 8am for the presentation of the stay and the last adjustments of your backpack. Then, departure for your hike. Be ready and dressed for this first day!
We go up to the lake of Vallonpierre in which the Sirac is reflected, located next to the Vallopierre hut where we spend the night.
Positive altitude difference: 1250 meters, negative altitude difference: 150 meters, distance: 13.45km, 6 to 7 hours of walking.
D2: From the Vallonpierre hut to the Pigeonnier hut (2416m).
We start with a jaunt to the Col de Vallonpierre before returning to the hut to make our way to our accommodation for the evening.
D+: 450m, D-: 750m, distance: 8km, 4 to 5 hours of walking.
D3: From the Chabournéou hut to the Vallonpierre hut (2279m).
We make the most of the day, setting off on a route that takes us over the Beaume Rousse plateau and the Tirrières plateau before heading back up to the Pigeonnier hut for the night.
D+: 1200m, D-: 800m, distance of 13.5km, 7 to 8 hours of walking.
D4: From the Pigeonnier hut to the Gioberney parking lot.
We set off on an off-trail route that takes us to Lac Bleu, Lac du Lauzon, then on to the Gioberney parking lot where we take the shuttle bus to our starting point.
End of stay and dispersal at the departure parking lot around 4pm.
D+: 150m, D-: 950m , distance: 7km, 5 to 6 hours walking.
Important: Depending on the weather or for any other reason beyond my control, I may have to modify this program exceptionally. My local presence in the heart of the Champsaur and the Écrins allows me to respond as well as possible to these constraints without harming the interest of your stay.
