The Ganesh Himal trekking is a fascinating adventure offering an unforgettable experience in the majestic Himalayan mountains. Located in the central region of Nepal, the Ganesh Himal massif offers breathtaking panoramas, picturesque villages and a deep immersion in Nepalese culture.

Trek itinerary:
The Ganesh Himal trekking generally begins in Syabrubesi, a small town about 7 hours' drive from Kathmandu. From here, trekkers follow a picturesque path through lush forests, rice terraces and traditional villages.
The trek offers a variety of landscapes, from verdant valleys to snow-capped peaks, with highlights including Gosaikund lake and the Langtang valley. Trekkers also have the chance to explore authentic Tamang villages, interact with local people and discover their unique way of life.

Trek duration:
The duration of the Ganesh Himal trek generally varies from 12 to 18 days, depending on the route chosen and weather conditions. Regular breaks allow trekkers to acclimatize to the altitude, guaranteeing a safe and enjoyable experience.

Meeting the locals:
You'll immerse yourself in Nepalese culture by meeting local people along the trek. Tamang villages warmly welcome you for an authentic cultural experience.

Program

D1: Kathmandu.
Arrival and welcome at the airport, followed by transfer to your hotel.

D2: Kathmandu - Syabrubesi (1450m).
Approximately 6 to 7 hours' drive.

D3: Syabrubesi - Thuman (2340m).
You start your trek from Syabrubesi, a charming village nestled at the foot of the Hymalaya foothills. The trail winds through lush forests and terraced fields, offering glimpses of traditional Tamang houses. As you climb, the air becomes crisp and you reach Thuman, a village of intricately carved wooden houses. The local lodge offers a comfortable retreat with breathtaking mountain views.

D4: Thuman - Nagthali (3200m) - Tatopani (2650m).
The trek continues through ancient rhododendron forests and picturesque landscapes. You reach Nagthali, a high viewpoint offering panoramic views of the Langtang range, the Ganesh Himal and the mountains of Tibet. You then descend to Tatopani, famous for its natural hot springs and offering a soothing rest to trekkers. The Tatopani lodge offers comfort in the midst of rugged terrain.

D5: Tatopani - Ghatlang (2280m).
You pass through picturesque villages and terraced fields to reach Ghatlang. The village is adorned with prayer flags fluttering in the mountain breeze. The lodge offers an insight into the traditional way of life of the Tamang people.

D6: Ghatlang - Somdang (3200m).
As you hike, the landscape changes and you enter the high-altitude village of Somdang. The lodge here offers warmth and shelter against a backdrop of snow-capped peaks.

D7: Somdang - Pansang Kharka (3550m).
Ascend to Pansang Kharka, a serene alpine meadow surrounded by imposing peaks (Manaslu, Ganesh, Langtang ranges, etc.). Set up camp here and immerse yourself in the tranquil beauty of the Himalayan wilderness.
Overnight in tents. Approximately 4 hours' walking.

D8: Pansang Kharka - Tipling (2170m).
Descend to Tipling, a village where warm local hospitality awaits you. Stay with a local family and discover the rich culture and traditions of the Tamang people.
Overnight with a local. 4 to 5 hours walking.

D9: Tipling - Sertung (1930m).
You continue your journey through terraced fields and charming villages to Sertung. A homestay experience allows you to connect with the locals and enjoy traditional cuisine, either at home or in tents.
4 to 5 hours' walking.

D10: Sertung - Lapa village (1830m).
Through lush landscapes to the village of Lapa, where you can choose between staying with local people or camping under the starry sky.
4 to 5 hours' walking.

D11: Lapa village - Myangal Bhanjyang (2580m).
We climb to Myangal Bhanjyang, a high mountain pass offering breathtaking views. You camp in tents in this isolated spot, surrounded by the tranquility of the Himalayas.
5 to 6 hours' walking.

D12: Myangal Bhanjyang - Yarsa village (1800m).
Descend to the village of Yarsa, where you can opt for a homestay experience or camp beneath the imposing peaks, in tents.
4 to 5 hours' walking.

D13: Yarsa - Soti Khola (930m).
You navigate through varied terrain to reach Soti Khola, a picturesque riverside village. The lodge here offers a comfortable rest before the final stage of the trek.

D14: Soti Khola - Gorkha (1530m).
After the journey you can visit the ancient Gorkha Durbar and immerse yourself in the history and culture of the region. The night is spent in a hotel, where you can reflect on the incredible journey into the heart of the Himalayas you've just experienced.

D15: Gorkha - Kathmandu.
Approximately 6 hours' drive.

The price includes

  • Supervision by the experienced guide.
  • Airport/hotel/airport transfers.
  • Kathmandu/Syabrubesi trip by private bus for groups of 4 or more, otherwise by local bus.
  • Soti Khola/Gorkha trip by private jeep.
  • Gorkha/Kathmandu journey by private bus for 6 people or more, otherwise by local bus.
  • Full-board lodge accommodation, including all meals with tea or coffee (except drinks).
  • 2 nights' hotel accommodation in Kathmandu, including breakfast.
  • One porter for every 2 participants (in compliance with the Nepal Porters' Union regulations, one porter carries a maximum of 20kg; you will need to hire an additional porter if your luggage exceeds 10kg).
  • Assistant guide (depending on group size).
  • Cook and assistant cooks.
  • Camping equipment (tents, mess tents, toilet tents, etc.).
  • Trekking permit for Langtang National Park.
