Description
Throughout the winter, I offer ski touring discovery outings in the Queyras or Ubaye mountain ranges departing from the village of Guillestre or the surrounding resorts (Vars, Risoul, Ceillac, etc.).
The program for this day trip in the Hautes-Alpes or Alpes-de-Haute-Provence departments includes:
- introduction to ski touring equipment,
- use of the avalanche beacon,
- easy ascent (on paths or in mountain pastures),
- learning progression techniques (proper kick turns, use of climbing wedges, etc.)
- and, above all, a panoramic summit with views of the surrounding mountains!
The descent route is generally chosen by the participants, with the aim of having fun and working on descent techniques if necessary.
If you already have a bit of experience in the activity and would like to improve, I also offer ski touring improvement outings in the Queyras and Ubaye regions, some mountaineering-ski touring in the Hautes-Alpes, as well as this mini ski touring raid in the Hautes-Alpes.
You can also come and work specifically on your downhill technique during an off-piste and freeride ski session in Val Thorens, Savoie.
Program
- Departures are possible every day from December, so let me know your availabilities!
- Meet at 8am at the village of Guillestre bus station to carpool, or directly at the start of the ski tour.
- Ascent with touring skis.
- Picnic at the summit.
- Descent and return to the parking lot.
- Return to Guillestre around 2 / 3 pm.
The price includes
- Supervision by the mountain guide.
- Guide fees, if any.
- Loan of safety equipment (avalanche beacon, shovel, probe).
- Collective first-aid kit.
The price does not include
- Return transport to the start of the hike or to the village of Guillestre, 40 minutes drive from Briançon and one hour from Gap.
- Participation in carpooling.
- Ski pass if any.
- Insurance covering ski touring.
- Picnic lunch and snacks.
- Drinks.
- Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".
