Nant de Rossane via ferrata (Les Aillons)

Description

I would like to take you on a tour of the Nant de Rossane via ferrata, located in the Aillons-Margériaz resort, in the heart of the Bauges massif. The route is suitable for everyone, from beginners to advanced climbers, or even those learning to rope up and secure themselves. Experienced climbers can also enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Bauges mountains. This is a pleasant via ferrata of increasing difficulty.

After a short, shady approach walk, the route offers 4 sections that can be linked together or climbed independently of each other:

• The first part, rated fairly difficult and very ironed, begins with a short traverse leading to a 5-meter-high ladder. After gaining a little more height, the route follows a left-hand ledge leading to an 8-meter Nepalese bridge at ground level. A trail link leads to the second section.
• The second and easiest part is an almost horizontal route over a succession of ledges, ending with a 5-meter footbridge.
• The third and final section is more difficult, requiring you to climb a very steep area or to cross and then ascend at an angle on an easier slab. You then have to cross a 12-meter monkey bridge, which is inverted at the end and puts a strain on the arms.
• Finally, all that's left to do is take the 20-meter zip line into a tree, then return to the ground via a short, easy monkey bridge.

Program

• Meet in Aillon-le-Jeune, about 15 minutes' drive from Chambéry, 45 minutes from Annecy and 2 hours from Lyon.
  (Possibility of carpooling from Grenoble or Chambéry).
• 10-minute walk to the start of the via.
• Approximately 2 hours to complete the via ferrata.
• 20-minute return walk to the parking lot.
• Total duration of activity: around 3 hours, with an ascent of 50 meters of positive difference in altitude and 270 meters of length on a varied route suitable for beginners.

The price includes

• Supervision by the climbing instructor.
• Loan of the equipment necessary to the practice of the activity: harness, via ferrata lanyards with energy absborber, helmet, pulley.
• First aid kit.
• Possibility of decreasing rates according to the number of participants.

The price does not include

• Return tansport to Les Aillons-Margériaz.
• Snacks.
• Drinks.
• Shoes adapted to the outing.
