Description
Passes, larch forests, sublime panoramas, waterfalls and torrents are all landscapes that you will discover during this amazing 4-day trek that goes around the Aiguilles du Chambeyron in Ubaye and makes a detour to Italy.
Without forgetting the essential element of this massif: its lakes, sometimes emerald, sometimes of a deep blue, to be discovered and to admired at the bend of a path.
If you like trekking for several days, I also propose other hiking itineraries in Savoie: the balconies of Maurienne and the high route of the Vanoise, and the trek from the Étendard to the Aiguilles d'Arves.
Program
D1: Meeting in Maljasset (helmet of Saint-Paul-en-Ubaye) - Valley and Pass of Mary - descent on Chiappera.
Overnight at the Campo Base refuge.
D2: Chiappera - Sautron Pass - Larche.
Ascent to the mountain pastures to turn back to the French side and reach the lodge in Larche.
D3: Larche - Mallemort Pass - Vallonnet Pass - Fouillouse.
We follow the path which goes through the lakes of Vallonnet and Plate Lombarde, crosses 2 passes, and reaches the village of Fouillouse. Return by shuttle bus to Maljasset.
Night in a lodge.
D4: Fouillouse - Chambeyron refuge - 9 Colors Lake - Pas de la Couletta - Fouillouse.
This last day offers you a splendid itinerary at the foot of the Chambeyron massif. We will pass near several small lakes, including the 9-coloured one... magnificent!
