Description
"Hiking with a donkey, it is to walk differently, it is to choose to live in nature taking with you all that superfluous that allows to be oneself".
This tour will allow you to enter the wild conservation area of the Vercors massif's highlands, to appreciate the silence, to discover a very interesting fauna and flora and to better understand the pastoral life. Thanks to our four-legged companions you will be able to travel light and in autonomy and thus to install bivouacs in places of dream.
An ideal formula for families and lovers of authentic nature.
I also offer throughout the summer:
- a family trek with donkeys in the Baronnies of Provence,
- an itinerary with donkeys in the Baronnies and
- 4 days of visits and hikes with donkeys to celebrate the transhumance in the Die region.
Program
D1: Combeau - Tussac sheepfolds.
Meet in Combeau at 9.30 am. Introduction to our fellow travelers and distribution of loads and packs.
We climb up to the high plateaus of the Vercors on a splendid and wild route, where chamois are not uncommon. We reach the Tussac sheepfolds for the bivouac.
4-hour walk.
Night in camp.
D2: Tussac sheepfolds - Chaumailloux sheepfolds.
Today, we may be lucky enough to spot chamois, ibex and marmots. From Tussac, we head due north towards the Jardin du Roy and Chaumailloux sheepfolds. We choose a superb bivouac site, making the most of the rare springs.
4-hour walk.
Night in camp.
D3: Chaumailloux sheepfolds - Combeau.
Our itinerary takes us to the Tête Chevalière, a superb viewpoint over the Oisans and Obiou mountains. Then it's back to civilization via the Greuson pass and the bucolic Combeau valley. Last hugs (and sometimes even a few tears) to Tonton, Magali, Zoé...
4-hour walk.
Separation in Combeau around 5pm, but it's only good-bye!
The price includes
- Supervision by the mountain leader specialized in traveling with donkeys.
- Full board accomodation during the whole circuit (plan the tent or warn me if you do not have one).
- Donkey rental.
- Adukt rate: 280€.
Children from 6 to 12 years old: 230€.
The price does not include
- Transport to and from Combeau, one hour drive from Grenoble and 2 hours from Valence.
- Drinks.
- Personal expenses.
- Cancellation and repatriation insurance.
- Visits and activities not planned in the program.
