Hiking on the Golden Islands and Var coast

Description

I propose to make you discover, during 5 days, the treasures of the Var coast and the Golden Islands.

Starting from Le Lavandou and its magnificent sandy beaches, you will discover the charming village of Bormes-Les-Mimosas and you will take the coastal path until you reach the fort of Brégançon. You will continue to the Iles d'Or (or islands of Hyères) and the peninsula of Giens, located off the town of Hyères, which offer some of the most breathtaking views of the French Riviera. Next is the Port-Cros National Park, with its wild and preserved nature, and then the island of Porquerolles, which you can explore. As if isolated from the rest of the world, these small pearls of the Mediterranean sea with their exceptional vegetation and sea beds invite you to disconnect.

In short, you will experience a circuit between land and sea, in a wild and bewitching Provence!

Program

D1: Hyères, Le Lavandou, Bormes-les-Mimosas.
We meet either at the hotel in Le Lavandou at 2pm or at the train station in Hyères at 1pm. You will then go to the village of Bormes-les-Mimosas to walk around and visit this medieval village of the XII^th century with its Provencal charm, one of the most beautiful flowered villages in France.
Night in Lavandou.
Positive altitude difference: 150 meters, negative altitude difference: 150 meters, 2.5 hours of walking.

D2: Hike to the fort of Brégançon and to the beach of Estagnol.
Transfer by vehicle to the starting point of our hike. You will walk to the beach of Brégançon where the fort of the same name is located, state residence and vacation place of the President of the Republic. On the way back, you will walk along the coast passing by the beautiful beaches of Brégançon and Estagnol which invite you to swim.
D+ and D- : 350m, 4.5 hours of walking, 13km.

D3: Discovery of the Port-Cros island.
From La Londe-les-Maures, you will reach the enchanting island of Port-Cros. National park since 1963 and first marine park in Europe, this island is a real ecological paradise known for its wild character. You hike to the top of the island and will be charmed by its Mediterranean atmosphere and its preserved fauna and flora. Return by boat to La Londe.
D+ and D-: 250m, 5 hours of walking.

D4: Hiking on Porquerolles island.
Today you take the boat from Le Lavandou to Porquerolles Island, the biggest of the Golden Islands, with its fine sandy beaches, its translucent waters and its small creeks. You will hike between land and sea to discover the sumptuous landscapes of the island... This real postcard scenery invites you to relax!
D+ and D-: 200m, 4.5 hours of walking, 10km.

D5: Tour of the Giens peninsula.
In the morning, you go to the peninsula of Giens to walk around it, following the magnificent customs path and its beautiful viewpoints on the Golden Islands and its falling cliffs. This is the opportunity to enjoy a last swim.
Dismissal at the Hyères train station at 3pm and end of the program.
Transfers : 40 minutes by minibus to Giens and 20 minutes to Hyères.
D+ and D-: 300m, 4 hours of walking.

• Supervision by the mountain leader.
• Accommodation in a hotel (on a shared double room basis).
• Meals from dinner on D1 to lunch on D5.
• The boat crossings Lavandou/Porquerolles and Lavandou or La Londe/Port-Cros.
