Here's a gourmet walk along the "route des fromages de Savoie" (Savoie cheese route), with very little difference in altitude and a pace that's suitable for children and the whole family.

In the mountain pastures of Albiez, in the heart of the Maurienne valley, you'll discover mountain farming during the summer season, and meet the "alpagistes" at work.

Indeed, we will visit them as they milk their cows to produce "Beaufort des Arves" cheese, gold medal winner in 2023 and 2022. This walk is an opportunity to talk about Beaufort, its history, tradition and evolution to the present day.

For your information, it is possible to add a visit to the local heritage to this gourmet tour.

I also offer summer hikes around Albiez to observe the life of marmots and ibexes, to hunt for fossils, and for the more sporty, the climbing of a 3000-meter peak in the Maurienne.

  • Departure every Wednesday from the beginning of June to late October in group outing from 2 to 15 people.

  • Discovery of agriculture, its history, how it has played a part in the daily lives of mountain people since Neolithic times, and the changes and innovations that have made the work of farmers easier.
  • The worker presents his work and his herd, answers our questions and lets us taste the hot milk from the milking and the succulent Beaufort.
