Gourmet walk in the mountain pastures of Albiez (Maurienne)
Duration : ½ day
France, Northern Alps
Level : easy, for the whole family
from 19 € / p. from 2 to 15 persons
Infos & BookingDescription
Here's a gourmet walk along the "route des fromages de Savoie" (Savoie cheese route), with very little difference in altitude and a pace that's suitable for children and the whole family.
In the mountain pastures of Albiez, in the heart of the Maurienne valley, you'll discover mountain farming during the summer season, and meet the "alpagistes" at work.
Indeed, we will visit them as they milk their cows to produce "Beaufort des Arves" cheese, gold medal winner in 2023 and 2022. This walk is an opportunity to talk about Beaufort, its history, tradition and evolution to the present day.
This experience is also available in winter and spring, with a gourmet walk including a visit to the milking plant in Albiez.
For gourmets, during the summer I also offer a discovery of the heritage and Beaufort in Maurienne, as well as fondue hikes in Albiez mountain pastures.
