Description
In partnership with the "L'École De Porte" training center, I'm offering a 5-day intensive course in the Chartreuse to prepare you for the probationary mountain leader exam. The Chartreuse massif offers many advantages in terms of terrain to get you in shape. This training course will enable you to perfect and reinforce your knowledge in order to pass both the knowledge and physical tests.
Training objectives:
- Acquire the techniques needed to navigate and orient yourself effectively in the mountains.
- Prepare for the physical walking/orientation test in varied terrain.
- Learn how to progress, efficiently and for a long time, off-piste in mountainous terrain over long distances.
- Acquire the in-depth knowledge of the mountain environment and culture needed to pass the MCQ.
This course is QUALIOPI certified. Financing is eligible for CPF or OPCO, Pôle emploi, FFLP.
Program
5-day course, Monday to Friday (35 hours).
Module 1: Mountain orienteering (14h).
- Fundamentals of cartography and orientation.
- Map/terrain work, mastery of navigation tools.
- Orienteering workshops and courses, walk-navigation.
- Specific physical and mental optimization.
- Strategies to improve efficiency.
Module 2: Knowledge of mountain environments (10h).
- Geology and geomorphism.
- Mountain ecology, flora and fauna.
- Mountain economy, habitat and social life.
- Landscape analysis, environmental protection.
- MCQ preparation.
Module 3: Probationary mock exam (7h).
- Completion of a mock D.E. probationary examination and technical corrections.
- Review and specific training plan for difficulties encountered during the mock exam.
Module 4: Refocusing knowledge, intensive preparation (4h).
- Walk-navigation specific to the probationary exam, preparation and intensive orientation simulations.
- Reconnaissance of terrain similar to that used for the exam.
- Mental preparation.

- Transport to the Col de Porte, a 30-minute drive from Grenoble.
