Rouanette full canyon (Ancelle, Hautes-Alpes)

Description

I propose you to come and discover the magnificent Rouannette canyon above the village of Ancelle.

This canyoning route is the classic of the Champsaur valley, north of Gap and in the heart of the Hautes-Alpes. It is an all-round canyoning experience, alternating abseiling up to 12 meters high, jumps (never mandatory) and 6-meter slides in natural toboggans... everything you need for a thrilling experience!

This playful canyon is located in the alpine pastures of the beautiful Rouanne valley, surrounded by sumptuous mountain scenery of the Écrins massif. It is undoubtedly one of the region's most beautiful courses, winding through a limestone gorge magnificently sculpted by erosion.

The trip takes around 4 hours and can be completed by people who have not necessarily done canyoning before. You will need to be at least athletic to complete the 40-minute uphill approach walk, and be comfortable hiking in the mountains. You must be at least 12 years old and be able to swim. Program

• Departure in the early afternoon, for around 4 hours of activity.
• Meeting point: Ancelle ski resort parking lot (zip code 05260), about 20 minutes' drive northeast of Gap in the Champsaur valley.
• I will then carpool with my 8-seater car to the canyon parking lot in the hamlet of Rouanne Haute, at the end of the Rouanne valley.
• Approach walk of 40 minutes.
• 2 and a half to 3 hours down the canyon.
• 5-minute return walk to the parking lot.
• Return to the village of Ancelle around 5.30pm.

The price includes

• Supervision by the canyoning instructor.
• Technical equipment necessary for the practice of canyoning: 5mm neoprene wetsuit, neoprene socks, harness with double lanyards, descender, helmet. But also suitable backpacks with watertight containers to carry your clothes and water bottles.

The price does not include

• Return transport to the village of Ancelle.
• Swimming suit + towel.
• Sneakers or mountain boots (shoes in good condition that fit well).
• Snacks.
• At least 1 liter of water (plastic bottle) for 2 people.
• A lanyard if you wear glasses.
• An elastic band to tie back long hair.
• Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".
