Description

I invite you to join me for three days of climbing on the legendary Buoux cliff in the heart of the Luberon Regional Natural Park.

This cliff, which enjoyed its heyday in the 1980s and 1990s, has broken more than a few knuckles and inspired more than a few climbers. Well known to climbers from all over the world, Buoux is rightly renowned worldwide. More than 500 routes have been marked out on its magnificent limestone rock, ranging from level 5 to level 8c. Slabs, verticals, overhangs—all types of terrain are present! Since the first routes were opened in the 1970s, part of the history of climbing has been written here. In the early 1980s, the movie "La vie au bout des doigts" (Life at Your Fingertips) revolutionized the sport: we see the young Patrick Edlinger climbing the routes of Buoux "barehanded" and completely solo (i.e., without ropes or any safety equipment). We all still remember those images of him hanging casually from one hand, a hundred meters above the ground. Many vocations were born after seeing this film, which has become a cult classic.

Many routes such as "Le pilier des fourmis (6b+)", "La rose des sables (7a)", "Azincourt (France's first 8c)", "La diagonale du fou (8a)", etc. have become iconic and are still highly sought after.

Since its revival and the opening of new sectors where it's good to wear down your fingers, this demanding, technical, and magnificent cliff has been given a new lease on life, where each achievement will leave you with an immense sense of accomplishment, whatever your level.

The highlights of this climbing progression course:

  • Holes, ledges, slabs, overhangs, technical walls: Buoux offers all styles of climbing.
  • This allows you to work on technique, positioning, relaxation, belaying, and falling.
  • The site is perfect in autumn, winter, and spring.

I also offer other trips to help you improve your climbing skills:
