Multi-activity camp for young people in Guillestre
Duration : 5 days
France, Southern Alps
Level : any
from 260 € / p. from 4 to 8 persons
Infos & BookingDescription
I offer a multi-activity camp for young people aged 11 to 13. It takes place in the Hautes-Alpes department, around the village of Guillestre and at the gateway to the Queyras massif.
The five-day program includes:
- an introduction to or improvement in rock climbing,
- via ferrata,
- canyoning,
- and off-trail hiking with camping in a teepee.
The technical and physical level of the activities is adapted to the abilities of children and teenagers. It is an opportunity for them to try new sports or develop their skills in a group with other children their age.
The via ferrata will be chosen from the following, all located around Guillestre:
- the Rochers de la Clapière above the village of Ceillac,
- Pra-Premier, or the Crêtes de Combe la Roche in Arvieux,
- Horloge or Durance Gorges in L'Argentière-la-Bessée,
- etc.
The climbing sessions will take place on the following cliffs:
- Panacelle: On the heights of Guillestre and at the gateway to the Queyras massif, this is a beautiful limestone cliff that is perfect for discovering climbing and for children. Indeed, it offers many very accessible routes, located in the shade of the pine forest.
- Mont-Dauphin: Known for its magnificent medieval citadel, this village also has a few climbing sites, located on the cliffs that support its fortifications. It is possible to climb here all year round thanks to the different orientations and the rock is very surprising as the holds are generally either pebbles or holes.
- Saint-Crépin: This historic site from the 80s was re-bolted a few years ago to make it usable again. More than a hundred routes from grade 4 are traced on excellent limestone rock and all styles of climbing are represented.
- Chanteloube: On the right bank of the Durance river, this limestone cliff has an initiation sector with ideal routes for beginners. Slab climbing is not athletic and is sure to delight children.
If you have younger children, they will love this climbing session for ages 6 and up around Guillestre. And for you, I suggest a day of climbing on the cliffs of the Hautes-Alpes.
