Barousse valley via corda

Description

I invite you to follow me to the heart of the Hautes-Pyrénées department for a wonderful vertical experience on the via corda in the Barousse valley.

The via corda is similar to a via ferrata, but without metal rungs and with a rope instead of a cable as a lifeline. The via corda allows you to climb steep mountainous areas, equipped with harnesses and lanyards to ensure your safety.

Located above the village of Mauléon-Barousse, this via corda allows you to climb to a small summit. The route follows passages in the cliffs, sometimes horizontal and sometimes more vertical, where you will need to use your hands to climb the rocks. After a well-deserved break to enjoy the panorama of the surrounding mountains, the descent begins with an abseil before joining a path to return to our starting point.

Program

• The meeting point is in the village of Mauléon-Barousse, where we will be kitted out with all the necessary equipment. Mauléon is about a 20-minute drive from Montréjeau and 30 minutes from Bagnères-de-Luchon.
• A short 15-minute walk through the forest takes us to the start of the via corda for a half-day of activity.
• Wear comfortable clothing and sports or hiking shoes, and bring a bottle of water and a snack.

The price includes

• Supervision by the climbing instructor.
• The equipment necessary for the activity (harness, helmet, pulley, via ferrata lanyards with energy absorber, etc.).
• Photos of the outing!

The price does not include

• Return transport to the meeting point in the village of Mauléon-Barousse.
• Sportswear and appropriate footwear (sneakers or hiking boots).
• A small backpack with a water bottle, snacks and sunscreen.
• Snacks.
• Drinks.
• Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".

Accommodation

• There are many possibilities for accommodation in the region: campsites, gites and unusual accommodation such as yurts or tree houses!
