Description

At the crossroads of the Mont Blanc massif and the Tarentaise valley, the Beaufortain is a mountain range apart: unspoiled, authentic, and incredibly charming. Far from the hustle and bustle of the big resorts, it reveals a wild atmosphere of rounded ridges, silent valleys, and isolated mountain pastures that perpetuate a true mountain heritage.

This 3-day snowshoe trek offers you total immersion in the heart of this little-known mountain range. As you make your way across, you will find yourself in a striking winter landscape of pristine valleys and panoramic views of the iconic peaks of the Beaufortain. Nights in mountain huts punctuate the adventure, offering warmth, comfort, and conviviality in the middle of winter.

Throughout this trek, you will gradually be guided towards greater autonomy in snowy terrain. In particular, we will cover:

  • Avalanche safety: use of avalanche beacons, reading the terrain, route selection.
  • Winter navigation: maps, compasses, digital tools.
  • Decision-making and managing travel in snowy terrain.

The goal is to leave with a solid foundation for becoming independent, moving safely, and understanding the essential mechanisms of winter hiking.

In short, this is an ideal trip for lovers of powder snow and wide open spaces, and for those who want to gain skills while enjoying a full and immersive adventure in the heart of the Beaufortain.
