Description

I propose we embark on a two-day adventure together, exploring two beautiful via ferratas in Switzerland's Bernese Oberland: the Gantrisch via ferrata in the nature park of the same name, and the Kandersteg-Allmenalp via ferrata – a must-do!

These two routes offer the perfect opportunity to discover the basics of via ferrata with family or friends. Throughout the climbs, I will be by your side, available to advise and assist you at various points. If you have any doubts about your abilities, we can first complete one of the via ferratas in the Estern region of France.

Quite demanding and athletic, the Gantrisch via ferrata leads to a summit offering exceptional panoramic views of the Jura mountain range and the high peaks of the Bernese Oberland. The route features a few overhangs right from the start, then continues with an almost vertical section to a ledge. It then traverses grassy slopes with ladders and easier ledges to reach the final, vertiginous, and overhanging challenge before easily reaching the summit of Gantrisch at 2,176 meters.

Meanwhile, the Kandersteg-Allmenalp via ferrata unfolds in an incredible setting. It begins with a 100-meter-high wall, sometimes vertical and veering left, leading to a nearly 30-meter-long Nepalese bridge. You then pass a large Swiss flag and the route's guestbook before encountering the most unusual feature of the route: suspended ladders, including one that twists 180 degrees. The key section comes a little later with a physical traverse to the right, before a Nepalese footbridge. The route continues to gain altitude until a 40-meter-long zip line, then a final vertical section leading to the exit.

If this weekend inspires you to go climbing, I also offer other vertical adventures:
