Belle au Bois canyon (Megève)

Description

I suggest you follow me for a beautiful canyoning descent just a stone's throw from the resorts of Megève and Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, in the Belle au Bois canyon.

This canyon for athletes is located in the middle of the Megève mountain pastures and under Mont Joly, in a gorge magnificently sculpted over millennia by the passage of water.

You will experience an unforgettable adventure throughout this impressive route which offers jumps up to 7 meters high with landing in stunning natural pools, slides in natural toboggans and great rappels in waterfalls.

The first part of the Belle au Bois canyon is well enclosed and includes a 3 meter jump and some fairly simple abseils. It leads to a nice deep and suspended basin which offers a beautiful steep slide and a jump. It is then time to abseil down the large waterfall, almost 25 meters high. Enough to fill up on thrills! What follows is less impressive but it takes place in a magnificent environment surrounded by nature with the crossing of several fun obstacles.

Throughout the descent, each technical passage is not mandatory because it can be bypassed (or on the contrary repeated several times).

This activity is accessible to people aged 14 or over who know how to swim.

Program

• Choice of departure: morning or afternoon for approximately 3 hours of activity (equipment, approach walk, descent of the canyon, return walk and disequipment).
• Meet at the parking lot located at 2811 route Edmond de Rotschild in Megève, then carpool and go to the canyon departure parking lot.
• 5-minute approach walk to reach the start of the canyoning descent.
• About 2 hours of activity in the canyon.
• Return walk of 15 to 20 minutes to come back to the parking lot.

The price includes

• Supervision by the canyoning instructor.
• The technical equipment necessary for canyoning: 5mm neoprene suit, 3mm neoprene socks, double lanyard harness, safety carabiner and descender, helmet.
• Photos taken during the outing and sent the same evening.

The price does not include

• Return transport to Megève, a 40-minute drive from Chamonix, 1 hour from Geneva and 1.5 hours from Annecy.
• Personal belongings such as swimsuits and bath towels.
• Sneakers or walking shoes (shoes that hold your feet well with a rigid sole), ban beach or river shoes with soft soles.
• A cord if you wear glasses.
• A snack and a bottle of water for after the activity.
• An elastic to tie long hair.
• Anything not mentioned in "The price includes".
