Description

Join me in exploring the Pont du Diable canyon, located near Lescheraines in the heart of the Bauges massif.

The route is divided into several sections:

  • A gentle, enchanting opening section to soak in the surroundings.
  • Then, the action begins with a wide variety of technical obstacles: jumps, rappels, and slides down natural toboggans.
  • An athletic "opposition" section allows you to traverse a narrow gorge where you’ll need to work with the current.
  • Finally, pools at the end of the course await, offering an unforgettable swim!

The atmosphere here is unique; the canyon is carved into the rock like a saber slash. The famous Pont du Diable (Devil's Bridge) towers above, offering a stunning view of the obstacles that follow one another continuously for about 250 meters. The gorge is deeply incised, with passages sometimes no more than a meter wide.

Highlights include:

  • An "opposition" traverse, feet on one wall, back pressed against the other, fully secured by a handline.
  • Numerous jumps, some technical, reaching up to 7 meters in height (though never mandatory). You’ll discover that the most impressive jumps aren't always the highest ones!
  • A ten-meter "launch" slide that guarantees a thrill.
  • A pool stretching about 75 meters, where swimming in emerald water between sheer vertical cliffs is a pure delight.
  • To finish, a jump into a wide basin—a chance to have fun with tricks and end the adventure on a high note.

If you're interested in other aquatic adventures in the area, I also offer the Angon "discovery" canyoning trip near Annecy, or its more challenging version.
