I propose you to go for a 4-day trekking in the Orsiera-Rocciavrè Natural Park, located in the Italian Piedmont region near Turin.

There, you will discover vast protected areas with remarkable biodiversity, between the Susa valley and Val Chisone. And above all, you will travel the Park at the best time of the year, as June offers an explosion of colors and scents.

If you have less time, it is also possible to trek for 6 days in the Orsiera-Rocciavrè Natural Park. You can also follow me elsewhere in Europe, for a trek in the Brenta Dolomites, hiking in the Austrian Tyrol and trekking in the Balkan National Park in Bulgaria.

Program

D1: Città (municipality of San Giorgio di Susa) - Cortavetto - Toesca hut.
Meet in the village of Città, about 2 hours drive from Chambéry.
The trekking starts gently on a relatively forested itinerary interspersed with vast alpine meadows. We pass the small frog lake in Cortavetto before reaching the Toesca hut, where we stay for the night.
Positive and negative altitude difference: 640 meters, hiking time: 3 hours.

D2: Toesca hut - Sabbione pass (2650m) - Selleries hut.
Today we climb and then descend into the increasingly mineral world of the Val Chisone to reach the Selleries hut, our overnight stop.
D+: 940 meters, D-: 660 meters,  hiking time: from 5 to 6 hours.

D3: Selleries hut - Superiore di Malanotte pass - Punta Cristalliera - Lago Rosso - Val Gravio hut.
This hiking day is marked by the ascent of Punta Cristalliera (2801 meters above sea level) via the upper Malanotte pass. The route passes by a number of small mountain lakes, offering magnificent scenery!
D+: 820m, D-: 1400m, hiking time: 6 hours.

D4: Val Gravio hut - Alpi di Piansignore - Montebenedetto - Città.
This last step of the trekking is very forested and leads to the Carthusian monastery of Montebenedetto (built in the 13th century).
Return to the parking lot and the cars via Adret, a charming mountain village.
D+: 250m, D-: 500m, hiking time: 3 hours and a half.
