Exclusive route, this roaming around the Pointe de l’Échelle in Vanoise will take you between 2000 and 3000 meters of altitude, or more.
On the program: high mountains and pastures meadows preserved in the heart of the Vanoise National Park, splendor of a sector little frequented except by the ibex, chamois and other species of our mountains, glacial lakes and magnificent panoramas.
This original trek ends at the foot of the Dolomites of Vanoise, a magical and mineral place between Pralognan-la-Vanoise and Courchevel.
Accommodation is in pleasant refuges.
You only have to carry your personal stuff during the 5 days.
If the schedulded dates do not suit you, do not hesitate to propose yours.
And if you like trekking, I propose other magnificent itineraries in Savoie:
- four days of trekking of the high summits of Vanoise,
- three days of hiking with bivouac in the Beaufortain,
- four days around the Aiguille du Fruit in Vanoise with bivouacs.
D1: Pralognan-la-Vanoise - Col d'Aussois - Pointe de l'Observatoire - Fond d'Aussois refuge.
The first part of this day allows you to warm up in the Chavière valley and the large alpine pastures of Ritord (1970m). The real ascent is then made to the col d'Aussois (2914m), then as an option to the Pointe de l'Observatoire (3016m).
D2: Col de la Masse - Ravin Noir - Col de Chavière - Péclet Polset refuge.
Beautiful and long stage with the passage of 3 wild passes with off-trail parts. On the foothills of the Pointe de l’Échelle we start the tour by climbing to the Col de la Masse with the option of climbing to the summit of the Râteau d'Aussois (3128m).
A colourful and quite mineral itinerary off trail.
D3: Col des Fonds - Monts Coua lakes - Saut refuge.
A day with a succession of high altitude lakes and beautiful off-trail sections.
D4: Râteau pass and lake - Lacs Merlet refuge.
A slightly quieter stage, but still a good hike up to the Râteau pass and down to the lake of the same name.
D5: Brèche de la Portetta and return to Pralognan-la-Vanoise.
For this last stage, you climb up to the mountain pastures and foothills of the Petit Mont Blanc, up to the Col des Saulces (2456m). We then start a route in the heart of the Dolomites of the Vanoise to go along the superb cliffs on the way down and reach the Portetta breach (2651m) in this very mineral and magical world.
