Description

I'd like to invite you to follow me and climb a multi pitch route in the Montpellier region.

It's important to note that  multi pitch climbing requires a great deal of experience and appropriate technical skills. That's why it's advisable to call on the services of a professional or experienced climber when embarking on your first routes.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced climber, I'll find a multi pitch route suited to your level, and if you wish, we can discuss the specific aspects of this type of climbing, such as belay organization and rope handling.

The Montpellier region offers many magnificent sites for enthusiasts of this sport. Here are just a few of the cliffs we can climb:

  • Pic Saint-Loup: Located some 25 kilometers north of Montpellier, the Pic Saint-Loup offers impressive scenery with its limestone cliffs. It's an ideal site for sport climbing and multi pitch routes. Climbers can enjoy routes of varying difficulty and admire the panoramic view over the region from the summit.
  • Hortus: Also north of Montpellier, the Hortus massif is renowned for its varied climbing routes, ranging from easy to difficult. All the routes are long, making it the ideal place for climbers in search of a challenge. From the summit, you can also enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area.
  • Le Thaurac: Le Thaurac is a climbing site near Ganges, some 40 kilometers west of Montpellier. It offers a wide variety of climbing routes in an unspoilt natural setting, with cliffs and caves. There are routes to suit all levels, making it an ideal place to discover long-distance climbing.
  • Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert: Located some 30 km northwest of Montpellier, Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert is a must for climbing enthusiasts. The village itself is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the surrounding cliffs offer many high-quality routes. It's the perfect place to combine climbing with the discovery of a historic and picturesque place.

This is your chance to experience a sensational adventure and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding nature!

If you're new to the activity, I'd advise you to opt for an initiation climbing session, still around Montpellier.
