Description

This Art of Walking training course taking place around Annecy in Haute-Savoie aims to improve your walking with the help of high-performance tools.

The Art of Walking was developed by Danilo ZANIN, mountain leader and sophrologist. It is the basic principle of the École de la Marche (Walking school), an association whose mission is to promote and disseminate an innovative approach to walking.

After all, we've been walking since we were kids.
But do we walk "well"? Do we walk in a useful, functional way, without causing injury to our bodies?
Are we walking in a "true" way, to use the doctor's term, i.e. with efficient motor patterns? By becoming aware of the sequences of gestures that create walking, and that respect the universal rules of biomechanics?

The Art of Walking invites you to come and explore what walking can become for everyone: light, fluid, pleasant and efficient. What's more, the Art of Walking can help you feel better about recurring discomfort when walking. Knee pain, for example, can often fade away as soon as posture is corrected.

The Art of Walking is naturally aimed at hiking, but also at all activities where we use this walking step: trail running, snowshoeing, ski touring, cross-country skiing and so on.

In this training course for everyone, we explore the basics of biomechanics, the different motor patterns used in walking, natural walking as practiced by traditional peoples around the world, PSS walking (steps synchronized with the breath), mindfulness, anchoring. And much, much more!

The Art of Walking is the ultimate tool for any walker wishing to reconcile walking with well-being!

If you're interested in the theme of walking, I also offer courses in the Art of Walking in the Bauges, as well as advanced sessions in conscious walking and Afghan walking in Haute-Savoie.
