Caving discovery in Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges
Duration : ½ day

Level : discovery
from 45 € / p. from 1 to 8 persons
Infos & BookingDescription
I propose a complete and accessible discovery of caving in the heart of the Haute-Garonne. Although you will have to pass through short, narrow passages at times, you won't need to use ropes. You'll be moving horizontally through a beautifully preserved cave, offering many possibilities.
Near Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges, the rocky maze that awaits you includes low passages, ledges and climbs. You will learn the techniques used by cavers. This outing will also be educational: you will contemplate and study the underground world to better understand it. Expect to discover speleothems such as concretions, stalactites, stalagmites and draperies, as well as galleries, small passages and rooms!
The outing lasts half a day, including set-up, approach and return times. To round off your day, I will suggest a few ideas for nature or cultural excursions. You'll be able to take advantage of this opportunity to discover some of the unspoilt areas typical of this wild region of the Hautes-Pyrénées.
If you are in the mood for more underground adventures in the region, you can follow me on a caving exploration of the nearby Troubat cave. ;A few kilometers from Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges, you can also opt for an introduction to canyoning in Arlos with my colleague Axel.
