Then don't miss this unique immersion into the world of ultra-endurance with Luca Papi, a true icon of the global ultra-trail scene, for an exceptional training camp in Gran Canaria, on his favorite training grounds.
The aim of this training camp is to prepare participants for long, self-supported trail runs.
A partial reconnaissance of the Transgrancanaria route is also planned.
After a first training camp in the summer of 2025, we are delighted to be working with Luca Papi again, an athlete renowned for his exceptional performances in ultra-endurance events (winner of the Tor des Géants, SwissPeaks, etc.). A true reference in long-distance trail running, he will share his experience and training methods with you.
To participate in this training course, you must be able to run more than 10 hours per day, including educational breaks.
The distance of the routes will be approximately 30km to 45km with a cumulative elevation gain of approximately 1800 meters per day.

- Managing effort over very long distances.
- Sleep and active recovery strategies.
- Nutrition and hydration adapted to ultra-running.
- Mental management: lucidity, motivation, and resilience.
- Orientation and autonomy in the field.
- Practical sessions on the volcanic trails of Gran Canaria.

Program
D1: Arrival in Gran Canaria.
- Welcome at Las Palmas airport between 3.30pm and 6.00pm.
- Transfer and check-in at the lodge.
- Welcome drink and presentation of the course.
- Evening, meal, and overnight stay at the lodge.
D2: Trails, review of the basics and managment of your effort.
- Morning:
- Departure at 9am for an 8 km trail run with 500 meters of elevation gain.
- Review of the basics and work on trail running technique.
- Posture, foot placement, technical descent, use of poles.
- Picnic on the trail.
- Afternoon:
- 20km trail run with 1300m elevation gain.
- Effort management.
- Lecture: "How to eat before, during and after exercise."
- Learn how to manage your meals and snacks to maintain performance throughout a long outing, avoid energy slumps and recover quickly during and after intense exercise.
- Practical advice based on Luca Papi's ultra-running experience.
- Evening meal and overnight stay at the hostel.
D3: Trail running, nutrition and mental strength.
- Morning:
- Departure at 7.30am for a 40km trail run with 1800m of elevation gain.
- Nutrition test: snack/energy supplement trial.
- End of the day:
- Conference on "How to optimize your mental strength in ultra trail running and extreme conditions."
- Techniques for managing stress, fatigue, and moments of doubt, and helping participants develop the resilience and concentration necessary to endure long distances and stay motivated even in the most demanding conditions.
- Evening meal and overnight stay at the inn.
D4: Trail running, sleep and orientation.
- Morning:
- Departure at 8.00am for a back-to-back trail run of 15 to 18 km with 1200 m of elevation gain.
- Conference: "How to manage your sleep, optimize your alertness, and perform well on night runs."
- Luca Papi shares his secrets for conserving energy, anticipating drowsiness, staying on course in the dark, and better distributing your sleep.
- Meal at the lodge.
- Afternoon:
- Educational course: "Orientation and navigation in autonomous trail running."
- Learn how to interpret and follow a GPS track, read terrain, and manage your orientation in the field. Objective: to be able to navigate independently on medium- or long-distance trails, even in isolated or nighttime conditions.
- Evening: 25-30km independent night trail run with 1500m of elevation gain.
- End of the night at the hostel.
D5: Final trail run, conference and debriefing.
- Morning:
- At 9am, conference entitled "Journey to the heart of international trail runs over 250 km."
- Luca Papi presents the major international trail runs he has already completed, shares his experiences and strategies, and helps participants set their own ultra-trail goals.
- Late morning:
- Departure for a 25km trail run with 1800m of elevation gain.
- Late afternoon:
- Debriefing and review of the course.
