Gorge du Cé via ferrata in Mont-Saconnex

Description

Come and discover the Mont-Saxonnex via ferrata for a unique adventure in the heart of the Cé Gorge.

Suspended between sky and rock, you will traverse limestone cliffs, cross walkways and cable bridges, and finish on a high note with zip lines for an unforgettable experience packed with thrills.

This immersive via ferrata takes place in a pristine natural environment, amidst a wild and unspoiled environment. It offers a varied route featuring cliffs, ladders, cable bridges, secret caves, and a series of walkways totaling 170 meters, complemented by two optional zip lines measuring 90 and 110 meters. Throughout the ascent, you will enjoy exceptional panoramic views of the Bargy massif, Le Môle, and the entire Arve valley. Accessible yet fun, this route combines enjoyment with thrills.

After a short approach walk through the forest, the cable-protected route begins with a vertiginous horizontal traverse, followed by an initial vertical climb. Next, another horizontal section offers more natural rock holds, making the drop below feel less daunting. A traverse featuring two cable bridges then reveals a stunning view of the route ahead.
A descent via two flexible log ladders leads to another traverse, passing near several small caves. At this point, you can choose between a family-friendly route (fairly difficult level) and a more athletic variant (difficult level). The latter starts with a vertical section leading to a large walkway over 80 meters long for guaranteed thrills! It continues with more standard traverses and climbs.
The family route, meanwhile, features a cable bridge about ten meters long, followed by two walkways measuring 30 and 60 meters. The two routes merge near the first 90-meter zip line. At the end, a second 110-meter zip line brings you back near the start of the first, allowing you to ride them in succession multiple times if crowd levels permit.
Finally, an uphill path leads you back to the parking area, rounding off the adventure in style.

Program

• Meet at the free cemetery parking lot in Mont-Saconnex, between Marnaz and Bonneville.
• Approach walk of approximately 20 minutes.
• 2 to 3 hours of activity to tackle the challenges or exit early if necessary.
• Return walk of approximately 15 minutes to get back to the parking lot.

• Supervision by the climbing instructor (the guide is paid for his expertise and not for the systematic achievement of an objective).
• Loan of high quality collective equipment (helmet, harness and via ferrata lanyard with energy absorber).

• Departure validated for a group of 6 people minimum or at the engagement (the expenses of service are distributed between the participants, whatever their number)
