Traditional climbing course in Annot (Southern Alps)
Duration : 3 days
France, Southern Alps
Level : 5c/6a
from 350 € / p. from 4 to 6 persons
Infos & BookingDescription
Traditional climbing is all about using your own protections, also known as nuts and cams, to progress safely on the rock.
During this 3-day course, I propose you to climb short and long cracks on the naturally sculpted sandstone of the village of Annot in the department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. You will evolve in a magical atmosphere and in the heart of a magnificent place renowned by climbers. You will discover and learn how to place your own protections and thus become autonomous on the unbolted cliffs.
After an approach hike of less than 30 minutes, over a hundred routes await you, ranging from grade 5 to grade 8 and of all lengths (there are even multi-pitch routes of 100 meters). The styles are varied, with vertical walls and overhangs of varying degrees. This guarantees you will find routes suited to your level where you can progress and improve.
If you would like to go even further in your use of trad climbing equipment, I would recommend a one-day initiation course to aid climbing in Isère, and if you would like to take your climbing to the next level, a climbing course around Grenoble to overcome your fear of falling.
I also suggest applying what you have learned on an trad climbing trip in the Lofoten, or on a climbing and canyoning stay in Oman.
