Multi-pitch trad route climbing (Vercors)

Description

I propose you to come and discover traditional climbing in the Vercors massif, close to Grenoble. This course is for people who are autonomous climbers on bolted multi-pitch routes. You will get to know the equipment specific to trad climbing, such as friends, cams, hexentrics, etc. and learn how to use them properly.

Want to go further in your progression and learn how to climb with maximum safety some routes where you will have to place your own removable protections? This course is for you!

The choice of the cliff and route will be made according to your level, your desires, etc. The possibilities are numerous in this mountain range and we will have the opportunity to explore the following cliffs for example:

• Presles: World-renowned, this is the multi-pitch climbing area of ​​the southern Vercors. Hundreds of routes, starting from grade 6 and up to 300 meters high, await you on magnificent limestone rock. While most are bolted, it is possible to find traditionnal routes and even aid climbing routes.
• Les 3 Pucelles: Overlooking the Grenoble metropolitan area, these three spectacular peaks offer several multi-pitch routes of all levels. The atmosphere is very special, and the views of the surrounding area are unforgettable.
• Omblèze: Located not far from Valence on the foothills of the Vercors, this crag, very fashionable in the 1990s, has many advantages. It is possible to climb in the shade even in the middle of summer.
• Archiane: Since the 1960s, climbers have been establishing routes on these magnificent cliffs, some reaching up to 400 meters in height. Bolted routes and trad climbing coexist in an exceptional environment.
• Etc.

• a magnificent climbing trip on traditional multi-pitch routes in the Lofoten Islands,
• and, to take things even further, a one-day introduction to aid climbing in Isère.

Program

During this climbing day, you will learn to:

• Place protections (nuts, cams, friends, hexentrics, etc.).
• Set up an anchor using nuts and cams.
• Manage the rope on multi-pitch routes.
• Manage your equipment on your harness.

The price includes

• Supervision by the climbing instructor.
• Loan of equipment required for the activity (ropes, quickdraws, nuts, cams, etc.).
• First aid kit.

• Return transport to the meeting place.
