Multi-pitch route climbing course in the Vercors

Description

This one-day climbing course will allow you to discover or improve in multi-pitch route climbing with pleasure and good mood. You will climb and enjoy the landscapes of the Vercors massif while learning belaying and progression technics on multi-pitch routes.

Thus, you will learn to:

• Set up an anchor.
• Abseil down safely.
• Manage double ropes and draw.
• Belaying techniques from the top.

This climbing course will allow you to acquire the basics or to deepen your knowledge to then become autonomous. You can evolve at your own pace and get advice from a professional.

The choice of crag and route will be made according to your level, desires, expectations, experience, etc. There are many possibilities in this mountain range, and we will have the opportunity to climb, for example, the following crags:

• Presles: World-renowned, this is the multi-pitch climbing area of ​​the southern Vercors. Hundreds of routes, starting from grade 6 and up to 300 meters high, await you on magnificent limestone rock.
• Les 3 Pucelles: Overlooking the Grenoble metropolitan area, these three spectacular peaks offer several multi-pitch routes of all levels. The atmosphere is very special, and the views of the surrounding area are unforgettable.
• Omblèze: Located not far from Valence on the foothills of the Vercors, this crag, very fashionable in the 1990s, has many advantages. It is possible to climb in the shade even in the middle of summer.
• Le Rocher de Gonson: Recently equipped, this crag near Méaudre offers several attractive routes accessible by rappelling.
• Archiane: Since the 1960s, climbers have been establishing routes on these magnificent cliffs, some reaching up to 400 meters in height. Bolted routes and trad climbing coexist in an exceptional environment.
• Etc.

Program

• This multi-pitch climbing internship is flexible from 1 to 3 days according to your desires and your objectives.
• We will see together on a cliff the various rope handlings to then climb a short multi pitch route in the afternoon.
• Depending on your level, we can also head straight out for a multi-pitch route.

The price includes

• Supervision by the climbing instructor.
• Loan of equipment required for the activity except climbing shoes (harness, helmet, ropes, quickdraws, belay device, etc.).
