Description

Take a two-day trip to the Mont-Blanc massif to find out if mountaineering is a discipline you enjoy.

The aim is to try walking with and without crampons on a snow-covered glacier and to climb a via ferrata on a cliff.

I will give you the technical notions necessary for progressing on glaciers and via ferrata which will enable you to understand your attitudes and their interest in the practice of mountaineering.

Program

D1: Walk on a snow-covered glacier with and without crampons.
Meeting at 8.30am at the scheduled place. The aim of the day is to understand your mountaineering skills and especially if you like it. We will go to different panoramic passes of the Mont-Blanc massif in order to discover the beauties of the high mountains.
About 3 to 5 hours of walking depending on your training.
Finally, we will conclude the day and schedule the next one.

D2: Technical hike in medium altitude mountain with parts of via ferrata.
Meeting at 8.30am at the schedulded place.
About 3 to 5 hours of walking depending on your training.
If the weather or conditions are unfavourable, the day will be dedicated to specific training on a via ferrata in the valley.
At about 3pm, at the end of the day, we will make an assessment of the course.

OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE:

  • Try walking with and without crampons on a snow-covered glacier.
  • Try the rope progression on a glacier.
  • Try the rope progression and the technique on a section of via ferrata.

The price includes

  • Supervision by the mountain guide.
