Trail trip in Sicily

Description

I propose you to go on a trail trip through Sicily and its volcanoes. You will discover all the Sicilian culture from the majestic Etna to the Aeolian Islands, the most volcanic region in Europe. This trip is the most beautiful destination in my catalog and it allows the trailers, in addition to the trip, to create real links between them and the locals.

Program

D1: Catania (Sicily).

• Welcome and transfer to the accommodation.
• Dinner and overnight at the villa close to Taormina.

D2: Ascent of Etna.

• Ascent of Mount Etna by trail.
• Very adventurous descent in these small basalt stones to allow us to find our logistics.
• Picnic.
• Dinner and overnight at the villa near Taormina.
• Distance: 22km, positive altitude difference: 1500 meters.

D3: Crossing of the Fiumedinisi reserve.

• Trail winding in the Sicilian scrubland with passages at over 1200 meters above sea level that will offer you views of the Mediterranean Sea.
• Picnic.
• Dinner and overnight at the villa close to Taormina.
• Distance: 18km, D+: 1100m.

D4: Rest day.

• Visit of the heritage and relaxation on the beach.
• Transfer by boat, then overnight in Lipari.

D5: Ascent of Vulcano volcano.

• Ferry boat to reach Vulcano island.
• Ascent of the volcano.
• For the brave: possibility of finishing this stage with a mud bath with the smell of sulphur.
• Transfer by ferry boat and overnight in Lipari.
• Distance: 17km, D+: 800m.

D6: Trail on Stromoli volcano.

• Excursion trail on the Stromboli with a vulcanologist guide to get closer to the eruptions.
• Transfer by ferry boat and overnight in Lipari.
• Distance: 11km, D+: 1100m.

Info: this stage can be cancelled or postponed depending on weather, volcanic and sea conditions. Another circuit will then be set up.

D7: Trail on Salina island.

• The island of Salina and its massifs are home to a tropical-looking eucalyptus forest.
• This island is also famous for its white wine that we can taste...
• Transfer by ferry boat and overnight in Lipari.
• Distance: 19km, D+: 1600m.

D8: Return.

Return by boat from Lipari via Milazzo and back to Catania, then the glass of Sicilian friendship will close this expedition trail!
Transfer by boat then to the airport.
