Ski touring in the Hautes-Alpes
Duration : 1 day
France, Southern Alps
Level : from beginner to advanced
from 95 € / p. from 4 to 6 persons
Infos & BookingDescription
From an introduction to ski touring techniques to the discovery of hidden spots, I propose you to spend a day skiing together, between larch trees and wide open spaces for maximum pleasure. I will take special care to adapt the outing to each person's level, as it is essential that everyone has some good time.
We will take advantage of this day to (re)view the use of the famous triptych avalanche beacon (detector of victims of avalanches), shovel and probe necessary to the practice of ski touring, in order to know all the subtleties and thus to allow all the learning of the safety in snowy environment.
This outing will take place in the heart of the Hautes-Alpes department, potentially in the south of the Écrins massif, maybe in the Queyras or Ubaye mountains, in the Clarée valley above Briançon, but the exact location will be determined according to the weather and snow conditions.
The elevation gain and technical difficulty (i.e., the slope to ski down) will be carefully chosen based on the group's level and the participants' expectations and desires.
If you are in the mood for a winter activity but the snow conditions are not optimal, it is also possible to spend a nice day of ice climbing in the Hautes-Alpes.
Program
Meet at the beginning of the day on the right spot of the moment that I will define according to the conditions and the level of the participants.
On the program:
- For beginners: Learning how to make the best use of your equipment and how to climb with your skis (body position, arms, conversions, optmization of efforts, etc.). For the more experienced, let's go for it !!! ;-)
- Above all, let's not forget the descent! Depending on the quality of the snow and your level, I will give you advice on how to adapt your technique to ski in good condition and to have fun in all types of snow.
